Attorney Matthew J. Clark joins SmithAmundsen’s Intellectual Property Practice Group in Indianapolis where he assists clients with issues such as: securing federal and foreign trademark registrations, securing copyright registrations, trademark and copyright enforcement, defending against trademark and copy right infringement claims and contract review.

Matthew’s clients hail from the entertainment and retail industries. He is skilled at representing and counseling clients in litigation and transactional matters and has significant experience with entertainment related contracts which includes advising on, negotiating and drafting book publishing agreements, book translation agreements, film options, reality show talent agreements, and music related contracts. He has prosecuted federal trademark applications with the USPTO, and has prepared opinion letters and given guidance on FTC compliance for retail clients.

Matthew worked in and around Los Angeles for nine years as a freelance writer and director of short films and stage plays. He transitioned to the legal field initially to help artists and creative individuals secure and protect their intellectual property.
