SmithAmundsen Promotes Four to Partner

On Thursday, March 10th, SmithAmundsen promoted the following four attorneys to partner:

Heather Bub, Partner, Product Liability, St. Louis MO

Heather focuses her practice on product liability, premises liability, commercial litigation, real estate and zoning litigation and toxic tort matters. She serves as president of the Women Lawyers’ Association of Greater St. Louis. In 2014, Heather was recognized as an “Up & Coming” lawyer by Missouri Lawyers’ Media.

Sulema Medrano, Partner, Commercial Litigation, Chicago IL

Sulema defends clients in litigation matters such as: premise liability, products liability, personal injury claims at large construction sites, bad faith and extra contractual claims related to insurance coverage, legal malpractice, breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty. Sulema is former president of the Hispanic National Bar Association’s Young Lawyers division and currently chairs the organization’s grant affiliate committee. She is a member of the SmithAmundsen diversity committee and is a delegate to the American Bar Association diversity committee.

Moses Suarez, Partner, Health Care, Chicago IL

Moses handles claims arising from complex medical issues which commonly include adverse maternal and fetal outcomes, as well as complex vascular injuries. Formerly a nursing assistant and pharmacy technician, Moses has a deep understanding of the health care and dental industries and focuses his work in medical malpractice litigation, health care compliance and probate matters. He is a member of the board of directors of the Lesbian and Gay Bar Association of Chicago, a member of the steering committee for the Professional Liability Underwriters Society, a committee member of the Chicago Healthcare Risk Management Society and an active member of SmithAmundsen’s diversity committee.

Michael Wong, Partner, Labor & Employment, St. Charles IL

Mike is a labor and employment attorney advising clients in matters relating to handbook and policy issues, discrimination and harassment concerns under Title VII and ADA, medical marijuana in the workplace, civil-right claims, FMLA claims, wage and hour issues, class actions, and other labor and employment issues arising under state, federal and administrative laws. He currently serves as editor of Bar Briefs for the Kane County Bar Association and is the president of the Elgin Area Chamber of Commerce.
