Overview

Amundsen Davis OSHA Alert

On November 7, 2018, OSHA issued its Final Rule that establishes federal requirements for the qualification of crane operators.

Beginning December 9, 2018, operators of most cranes used in construction activities will need to be certified by an accredited certification body.  Employers must complete an evaluation of each operator by February 7, 2019. If your operators and employers have not completed the certification and evaluation process yet, the new effective dates provide some additional time, but waiting too long could result in OSHA citations and penalties, in addition to concerns with crane related incidents and injuries.
