Litigation Associate (Full-Time - Chicago)

SmithAmundsen LLC seeks a mid-level Litigation Associate to join the Firm’s Chicago office. Candidate must be licensed in Illinois (and Indiana, preferred) and have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in civil litigation. General responsibilities include: representing clients in all aspects of litigation including court hearings and conferences, performing all aspects of oral and written discovery; conducting extensive legal research; drafting pleadings, motions, memoranda of law, client reports, affidavits, engaging in active motion practice in both state and federal court, including drafting motions for summary judgment, and motions to dismiss; and conducting fact investigation/development.  Strong analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well on a team are required.  Please submit a cover letter, resume, law school transcript and 2 writing samples to attorneyresumes@salawus.com.  Please refer to Job No. CHI20A in your cover letter.

Litigation Attorney –Tort and Commercial (Full-Time – Indianapolis)

SmithAmundsen LLC seeks a motivated and ambitious litigation attorney to join its established Indianapolis practice. Candidate must be licensed in Indiana and have a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the area of commercial litigation, tort/insurance defense, or insurance coverage. Successful candidate will be experienced and comfortable taking depositions, responding to complex discovery, briefing and arguing motions. Litigation Attorney - Medical Malpractice (Full-Time - Indianapolis)

SmithAmundsen LLC seeks a litigation attorney to join its established Health Care practice group located in Indianapolis. Candidate must be licensed in Indiana and have a minimum of 5 years of medical malpractice defense experience. Excellent lawyering skills, including written and oral communication, analysis, negotiation and advocacy, are also required. Experience with complex discovery and writing medical review submissions is preferred. Some local travel required. Transactional Associate - (Full-Time, Indianapolis, IN)

SmithAmundsen LLC seeks an associate attorney with 4-6 years of experience to join our expanding Indianapolis office. The successful candidate will be joining a team of attorneys with a sophisticated and varied practice representing high-profile banking, financial, and corporate clients in the areas of corporate governance, securities compliance, regulatory compliance, executive compensation, mergers and acquisitions, commercial financing transactions and general corporate matters. This position requires transactional experience, with some knowledge of litigation as well.  The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, independent, highly-motivated, client-focused and willing to put in the time to grow the expanding practice. Must be detail oriented and have excellent analytical and writing skills.
