As a skilled transactional attorney, Sujata brings to each of her engagements a talent for high-level strategic thinking, nuts-and-bolts planning and effective coordination. Her myriad experiences in law, public policy and community affairs afford her practical insights into issues of decision-making, strategy and stakeholder engagement. She is known for her warm client relationships and practical approach.

Sujata serves private sector, public sector and nonprofit clients in various industries, including banking, finance and health care. She assists with risk management, internal operations, issues of corporate and nonprofit governance, insolvency and restructuring, public policy and municipal finance. Sujata’s experience includes representing domestic and international financial institutions, as well as local nonprofit and corporate entities.

In her past consulting work she advised state and local governments, including a Governor and Mayor, on matters ranging from health system transformation to the management of public utilities to services for immigrants and refugees. She assisted nonprofits with organizational issues, such as board formation, governance, government affairs, public policy priorities, and establishing community partnerships. Her past work has taken her from cities around the U.S. to projects in Russia, Egypt, Turkey, South Africa and the United Kingdom.

Outside of the office, Sujata is a passionate advocate for inspired leadership in the civic, cultural and religious life of a community. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees of The Orchard School, the Board of Directors of Hoosier Women Forward, the Executive Committee of Better Indiana, and as a Precinct Chairperson in Hamilton County. She was a founding board member of Women4Change Indiana and a member of the Women’s Fund OPTIONS19 Class. Sujata and her family are actively involved in the Hindu Temple of Central Indiana and the local Indian community at-large.

Sujata is a native Hoosier who hails from Northwest Indiana. She is fluent in Gujarati and speaks elementary Hindi and French. She loves to travel, read spy novels and explore big cities.
