What sets John apart from other patent agents is his inquisitive nature. He enjoys both the patent process and learning about his clients’ inventions. Many of his clients are scientists working in chemistry, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, chemical engineering, polymerization technology and medical devices. His background studying organic chemistry allows him to understand his clients’ work as well as the need to protect it.

John assists with patent preparation and prosecution for chemical processing including oligomerization and polymerization, synthesis and use of metal catalyst complexes, polymeric compositions and applications, small molecule inhibitors, and pharmaceutical formulations.

Having worked in the industry himself, John understands his clients’ inventions and the attention to detail required for patent work. His technical experience includes synthesis of small molecules, opioids and natural products, electrochemistry, semiconductor manufacture, and flexible photoconductors.

Outside the office, John has a passion for music. He played drums professionally at the age of 13, touring with a St. Louis based rock band playing clubs and showcases.
