Doug's background in physics and aerospace engineering enable him to help a wide variety clients with their intellectual property needs. Prior to his legal career, he was a test pilot and carrier-based fighter pilot in the United States Navy. He obtained experience in the development and testing of aircrafts and aircraft systems including gas turbine, flight controls, navigation systems and avionics, as well as analyzing and determining the causes of aircraft accidents. 

As a registered patent attorney and a member of our Intellectual Property Practice Group, Doug protects the intellectual property assets of his clients, while respecting the intellectual property rights of others. He assists clients with patent, trademark, trade secret and copyright issues in a variety of industries, including aviation, automotive, medical, manufacturing, telecommunications and sporting equipment. 

Most recently, Doug was accepted into the Indiana Leadership Forum, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to educating Indiana's most talented business and community leaders about government, politics and policy to prepare them for greater civic involvement and leadership roles in their communities.
