For Alex going the extra mile means that in addition to protecting clients’ rights and striving for good resolutions, he also makes sure clients understand the legal process and feel comfortable. That means prompt responses to questions, providing copies and explanations of important documents, and taking the time to give thorough explanations of what is happening and what can be expected.
Alex sees being a lawyer as an opportunity to tackle novel problems others don’t know how to solve. He defends clients in civil litigation matters who are facing claims with questions about liability, causation and damages. He represents clients in matters relating to personal injury, premises liability, breach of contract, and declaratory judgment, and also has experience handing complex legal issues involving the First Amendment and sovereign immunity. Alex previously represented both plaintiffs and defendants in civil cases, which gives him an interesting perspective. He also has experience handling Ohio Workers’ Compensation claims and Social Security Disability Appeals.
In a world that grows increasingly technical in nature, Alex finds his background in computer programming extremely helpful. It leads him to consider the kind of information that might be asked for in discovery. In one case it also helped him create a demonstrative trial exhibit visualizing a plaintiff’s gaps in medical treatment.
