Attorney Joseph T. (JT) Charron Jr. joins SmithAmundsen’s Labor & Employment Practice Group as an associate in Chicago.
With a prior background in Human Resources, JT is uniquely skilled at representing and overseeing the defense of a multitude of labor disputes and employment-based claims, while being mindful of corporate policies and business objectives. He is very familiar with client expectations, the demands of running a business, and the day-to-day issues that today’s business owners’ face.
JT represents clients facing all types of discrimination, harassment and retaliation claims brought under the ADA and FMLA statutes; counsels businesses in unfair competition analysis and litigation; defends all types of wage and hour claims, including prevailing wage, minimum wage and overtime; and resolves workplace legal disputes and conflict through arbitration agreements.
His experience includes handling a wide array of employment matters, including drafting post-hearing arbitration briefs, drafting and arguing motions, advising clients of case law developments and potential ramifications and guiding employers on how to reduce or eliminate the risk of litigation.
