The law firm of SmithAmundsen LLC announces the recent promotion of three attorneys to partner. We are excited to promote these three new partners as an indication of our growth and continued commitment to high quality client service.

Jonathon Hoag is an attorney in the firm’s St. Charles office and a member of the Labor & Employment Practice Group. He focuses his practice on representing employers in labor & employment matters before state, federal, and administrative courts. His practice involves matters including wage and hour claims, employment contract issues, disability claims, discrimination and retaliation claims, harassment claims, prevailing wage issues, union issues, and safety and health matters. He is a contributing author to the Labor & Employment Law Update blog (www.laborandemploymentlawupdate.com). Jon received his law degree from Northern Illinois University College of Law, magna cum laude.

Matthew Horn is an attorney in the firm’s Chicago office and a member of the Commercial Litigation, Corporate, and Construction Practice Groups. He concentrates on matters including breach of contract, bonding, mechanics lien, and asset and business valuation litigation and he represents contractors, developers, owners, manufacturers, and general industry in construction defect, property damage, fire damage, personal injury, and OSHA-related litigation. Matt frequently writes and speaks on construction-related topics, and is an integral member of many different legal and construction-related associations including the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel, the Underground Contractors Association, and the Illinois Road and Transportation Builders Association. Matt received his law degree from The John Marshall Law School.

Sara Zorich is an attorney in the firm’s St. Charles office and a member of the Labor & Employment Practice Group. Her practice focuses on labor and employment law matters including employment discrimination, retaliation claims, unfair labor practices, governmental wage and hour audits, and immigration issues including I-9 audits, I-9 and E-Verify compliance, workplace enforcement counseling, defense of governmental immigration related audits and defense of discrimination claims relating to immigration status. She is also a contributing author to the Labor & Employment Law Update blog (www.laborandemploymentlawupdate.com). Sara received her law degree from IIT/Chicago-Kent College of Law.
