Larry Schechtman, SmithAmundsen’s Managing Partner, was quoted in a February, 2012 feature article published in Chicago Lawyer magazine. The article, “Maintaining a Niche Strategy, Vision in the Legal Market,” examines the tactics used by midsize law firms in order to compete for talent and business with larger firms. Larry discusses the firm’s Labor and Employment Practice Group to emphasize the importance of earning a reputation as a “recognized authority” within a field in order to generate more business. General Counsels of Fortune 500 companies are starting to recognize the quality of midsize firms is comparable to larger firms and might also cost less. He goes on to comment about the firm’s recent expansion in St. Louis and how the firm will continue to explore ways to improve coverage to our clients throughout the Midwest.
