An article written by Mike Cortina discussing a case involving foreclosure requirements was published in the ISBA’s August 2012 Commercial Banking, Collections, and Bankruptcy Section Newsletter. Mike’s article, “The Nightmare Scenario,” focuses on the case, Deutsche Bk. Nat. Tr. Co. v. Denise Brewer, et al, where the court held that the plaintiff’s failure to “comply strictly” with the requirements for service by publication prevented the trial court from having personal jurisdiction over the defendant.
