The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly of Affirmative Action

December 15, 2016
Illinois Chamber of Commerce; Webinar

10:30 am – 12:00 pm

What are the good, bad and ugly pieces of affirmative action? The good part is its goal: all persons will be treated equal. The bad part is that it requires companies who do business with the federal government to annually prepare an excessive amount of complex paperwork. The ugly part is that it gives the OFCCP Compliance Officers the legal right to examine any and all of the company’s employment transactions.

Heather Bailey will cover the new regulations related to individuals with disabilities and protected veterans, discuss the utilization analysis, benchmarks, goals and self-identification requirements and obligations for employers. She will also discuss the minimum wage and paid sick law requirements for contactors. Attendees will learn about obligations for federal contractors and how to avoid penalties and defend your organization in the event of an audit.
