Practice Areas

8:00 am – 4:30 pm.

In conjunction with the Illinois Chamber of Commerce, Jeffrey Risch, Chair of our Labor & Employment Practice Group, presented “Unemployment Insurance "101" - Assessing and Responding to Unemployment Claims” on December 8, 2010 in Willowbrook, IL from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.

This seminar provided a comprehensive analysis of often confusing unemployment insurance laws. Unemployment insurance disputes often involve various key principles and practices which, when applied effectively, can lead to a prompt and cost-efficient resolution of former employee benefit claims. Employment terminations occur in many ways and under numerous different circumstances. Each set of circumstances can and should be assessed to determine whether a former employee is eligible or entitled to unemployment insurance benefits. Jeffrey, and other members of our Labor & Employment Team, guided attendees through the process of identifying critical unemployment claim issues and problems, and discussed how to use the laws, the facts, and the procedural process to achieve more effective and efficient results in unemployment benefit disputes.
