Brad Goss, a partner in the firm’s St. Louis office will present “Immigration Updates Affecting Your Business” on Thursday, May 17, 2012 during a business event hosted by the Creve Coeur Chamber of Commerce.
The talk will include advice on how to comply with worker’s documentation. He will discuss the critical nature of I-9 compliance and how to avoid costly mistakes they can create not only the imposition of civil penalties, but cease and desist orders from the government. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) sent over 2,500 audit letters last year and there are new initiatives to increase audits in 2012. The talk will focus on practical suggestions to address proper I-9 completion and compliance, ICE audits, the E-Verify system, and other critical I-9 issues.
