“People. Matter. Most.” is the motto Katrice Matthews bases her practice on. Her goal in everything she does is to be of service to others. Instinctively a problem-solver, Katrice is constantly thinking of the most efficient and effective way to litigate; focusing on achieving bottom line results while still providing the highest quality of service.
As a member of the Commercial Transportation Practice Group, Katrice defends clients in and out of the courtroom in matters involving contract disputes, personal injury and risk avoidance in catastrophic loss scenarios.
Outside the office, Katrice is a role model and mentor to students interested in the legal system or careers in the law. She believes it is critical for students to be encouraged and to know that becoming an attorney is a possibility for any student with the drive, passion and support to achieve their goals.
Prior to joining the firm, Katrice served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Special Litigation Bureau and owned and operated a solo practice under the guidance of the Chicago Bar Foundation’s “Justice Entrepreneurs Project.” To date, Katrice has led her clients to success in more than a dozen trials and has helped them achieve favorable settlements, when warranted.
