Few corporate attorneys have the experience that David brings to the table. He practiced law at international firms in New York, Hong Kong and Korea for several years before returning to the states to join SmithAmundsen’s corporate team. He is fluent in Korean and experienced in aiding clients facing complicated cross border legal issues. He was an in-house counsel for a large multinational company, during which time he learned what is expected of outside counsel. He stands apart because he can anticipate his clients’ needs before they arise.
David never shies away from a challenge. In a notable case he successfully negotiated the sale of several businesses in five different countries while representing a major financial institution in their global divestiture of non-essential assets during the global financial crisis.
As a member of the firm’s Corporate Practice Group, David serves businesses that are expanding both geographically and in scope. He assists with cross border mergers and acquisitions, including joint ventures and private equity transactions. He helps clients with corporate governance and general corporate transactional matters. He also handles capital market transactions, including offerings of equity, equity-linked debt and hybrid securities. David represents a broad range of public and private clients in many industries including, pharmaceutical, telecom, energy, technology, manufacturing, engineering, construction, automotive, aerospace, banking, insurance, shipping and shipbuilding, logistics and more.
