Mike is the Chief Operating Officer of SmithAmundsen and an ex officio member of the firm's Executive Committee. Mike develops the firm’s scope of operations and drives the strategic and tactical planning process. As Chair of the senior administrative management team, he oversees and directs all management functions, including finance and billing, administrative support, information services, human resources, facilities and operations, docketing, conflicts, and marketing.
In addition, Mike manages the firm's lateral attorney recruiting process. He handles general recruiting administration including working closely with search and recruiting firms, interviewing lateral candidates, mangaging the review and due diligence process, and overseeing the onboarding and logistical integration of lateral attorneys.
Mike offers 20 years of operational management experience with broad financial accountability. His experience encompasses strategic planning and organizational development, financial management and operational effectiveness, as well as business development.
Prior to his current position as COO, Mike created, implemented, and managed the financial aspects of SmithAmundsen’s financial operations as the firm’s Director of Finance. Before joining SmithAmundsen, Mike had over ten years of experience in financial and operational management positions.
