Julie Proscia, a member of SmithAmundsen's Labor & Employment Practice Group, presented "Employee vs. Independent Contractor: Making the Distinction," in conjunction with Lorman Seminars on December 3, 2010 at the Chicago Bar Association.
This seminar explored how to differentiate between employees and independent contractors to prevent costly mistakes. Julie also covered the latest issues relating to independent contractors, provided practical answers to pressing questions about the Illinois' Employee Classification Act, and gave an inside look at how to respond to confusing issues surrounding government audits and lawsuits.
