SmithAmundsen Promotes Joseph Eichberger to Special Counsel
Chicago, IL, February 8, 2010 – SmithAmundsen LLC is pleased to announce the promotion of Joseph Eichberger to Special Counsel in the firm’s Chicago office.
A member of the firm’s Product Liability Practice Group, Mr. Eichberger focuses his practice in civil litigation matters concentrating in construction injury, construction defect, product liability, mechanics lien, and retail liability work. Throughout his 30-year career, he has represented defendants in legal malpractice cases including Wilson v. Coronet, 293 Ill. App 3d, 992, accounting malpractice cases, and claims under the Federal Debt Collection Practices Act. His work includes argument before the Seventh Circuit Federal Appeals Court and over 35 jury trials and verdicts and 50 bench trial findings. As a testament to his dedication, he has appeared in Who’s Who in Law in the Midwest.

Mr. Eichberger received a B.A. from DePaul University and his J.D. from Northern Illinois University College of Law. A devoted volunteer, Mr. Eichberger donates his time to the Chicago Bar Association’s Bar Foundation doing pro bono work at St. Agatha’s Church in Chicago. In addition, after completing his undergraduate work, he spent two years as a military officer in the United States Army.
