SmithAmundsen Announces New Virtual Workplace Venture in Lake County

To that end, effective October 1, 2009, our lawyers and staff presently located in our Lake County (Waukegan), Illinois office will be serving our clients in a virtual workplace from multiple locations. This is an experiment in building a better law firm that we believe will allow us to better serve our current and future clients.

Our investment in technology is enabling this opportunity and has great potential to allow us to further expand and extend the work of the firm beyond our physical walls. Our Lake County professional staff, Mark Broderick and Brian Ebener will continue serving their clients in and around Lake County. They will be working from virtual work platforms and have access to office services as required from our headquarters in Chicago, other firm office locations, as may be required. In addition, the firm has secured an office suite in Deerfield, Illinois that can be used for client appointments in Lake County. There have been no reductions in professional or clerical staff as part of this transition to a virtual work environment for our Lake County operations.
