Jill Cheskes and Larry Smith, partners from SmithAmundsen’s Chicago office, recently served as panelists at the Fall 2009 USLAW Network Client Conference in which took place in San Francisco, CA September 24-26th.
Jill Cheskes sat on the USLAW Employment and Labor Law Practice Group's “Managing Reductions in Force” panel. The group discussed how the global economy continues to challenge employers to streamline operations and reduce costs while maximizing productivity. They drew on the experience of human resource professionals, in-house counsel, and forensic consultants to advise clients on how to reduce the size of the work force most effectively while minimizing the potential for legal challenges to the reduction plan.
Larry Smith sat on the USLAW Professional Liability Group's “Fast and Furious - The Five Minute Drill” panel where he presented, "Apparent Agency: I Know You Are a Doctor, But Who Do You Work For?”
