Timothy Liam Epstein, Chair of SmithAmundsen's Sports Law Practice Group, has been appointed to the Faculty of Loyola University Chicago School of Law as an Adjunct Professor of Law.  Tim will begin by teaching a Sports and Entertainment Law Seminar in Spring 2010.

On November 20, 2009, Tim guest lectured at the University of Texas School of Law in support of authoring the lead law review article in the latest issue of the Texas Review of Entertainment and Sports Law ("Prep Plus: Evaluating the Motivations for and Effects of Enrollment Multipliers and other Measures in High School Sports").  In honor of the seminal "Disappointment Lawsuit" (for lack of or misuse of an athlete's playing time) that involved Joscelin Yeo, a star swimmer at Texas, Tim also discussed the history and current state of such causes of action.

Tim has also begun serving as a sports law analyst for Fox.  Below are a number of his appearances:

Additionally, on September 23, 2009, Tim had the opportunity to appear on WGN Radio AM 720 “Legally Speaking” with hosts Karen Conti and Greg Adamski.  The full hour was devoted to Sports Law issues covering Milton Bradley, the "metal bat" debate in amateur baseball, disappointment lawsuits, student athlete personal Web site/social networking issues, and liability for coaches for the injuries and deaths of players on the athletic field.

Tim has also been named in the Sports Law Expert Witness Directory.

Finally, at the Defense Research Institute's (the national trial defense bar) annual meeting this October, Tim was named Chair of DRI's Sports Law Special Litigation Group.
