Maureen L. Sucher

Maureen Sucher is an associate in SmithAmundsen’s Chicago office and is a member of the firm’s Commercial Transportation Practice Group.
Maureen has strong individual jury and arbitration experience as an insurance defense attorney. Her experience includes serving as first chair for over 40 jury trials in personal injury defense and insurance defense. As an insurance defense attorney, she has experience handling over 150 arbitrations, including AAA binding arbitrations involving uninsured and underinsured motorist claims. She has experience counseling clients in interrogatory responses as well as drafting motions and conducting over 100 discovery depositions and sworn statements as well as over 15 evidence depositions, including depositions of expert witnesses, to be used at trial. Maureen’s jury trials have been featured in the Illinois Jury Verdict Reporter.
While attending law school, Maureen was a member of The Ohio State Law Journal, Mentoring and More, Legal Negotiations Competitor, and Justice for Children Practicum. She also served as a law clerk for the Appellate Division of the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office.
Outside of the office, Maureen is a member of the Medical Research Junior Board Foundation, which is a junior board affiliated with Children’s Memorial Hospital to support and advance Pediatric Medical Research initiatives for the hospital.
Maureen is admitted to practice before the State of Illinois, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the United States District Court for the Central District of Illinois, and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Indiana.
