Suzanne J. Massel

Suzanne is a partner at SmithAmundsen and member of the firm’s Aerospace & Commercial Transportation Practice Group. She represents and counsels businesses and individuals in a wide array of matters. Suzanne concentrates in commercial litigation, aviation, labor and employment law, product and premises liability, real estate disputes, public entity & government liability, and insurance law.
Suzanne works closely with clients to arrive at creative and efficient ways to resolve disputes before resorting to the courts. When litigation becomes necessary, she vigorously represents her clients in court with great success. She has tried many cases in state and federal courts and has been involved in multi-district litigation aviation disaster cases.
In 2008, Suzanne was appointed as Special Assistant Attorney General to represent an Illinois State Agency in a complex business dispute. She has also represented the City of Chicago in many matters as well as other municipalities. She is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Northern and Central Districts of Illinois.
