Thomas J. Lyman, III is a partner in the Chicago office of SmithAmundsen. His legal experience includes catastrophic and severe bodily injury and property damage cases in airline litigation, construction accidents and defects, toxic torts, automobile litigation, product liability, and premises-related litigation involving restaurants, shopping malls, condominium associations, department stores, grocery stores, and other retail/commercial entities. Tom also practices in commercial litigation and contract issue matters. He has represented various companies and individuals in these actions. In addition, Tom has handled cases involving discrimination, false arrest, and malicious prosecution. He has tried numerous cases to verdict in State and Federal Court, averaging three trials per year with excellent results. Tom is a member of not only the Illinois State Bar, but also the Federal Trial Bar. Prior to joining the firm, Tom was employed by a reinsurance corporation as a reinsurance underwriter and marketing representative for 3-1/2 years.
Tom has received an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell for his legal ability and ethics.
