Jonathon D. Hoag
Associate
Jon is an associate in SmithAmundsen’s St. Charles office and a member of the firm’s Labor and Employment Practice Group. Jon focuses his practice on representing employers in labor and employment matters before state, federal, and administrative courts. He defends employers on matters involving wage and hour claims, employment contract issues, disability claims, discrimination and retaliation claims, harassment claims, prevailing wage issues, union issues, safety and health matters, and other labor and employment issues arising under state and federal laws.
Prior to joining SmithAmundsen, Jon worked for St. Charles, IL and Chicago, IL based defense firms and gained substantial experience defending a wide variety of labor and employment claims. Prior to his legal career, Jon worked as a Human Resource Manager for the State of Missouri. In that role, he gained experience drafting employee handbooks and personnel policies, training employees, developing classification and pay plans, handling discrimination claims, and mediating employment disputes.
