Don is an associate in SmithAmundsen’s Chicago office and a member of the firm’s Product Liability, Construction and Retail Practice Groups. Don has gained extensive experience in both the federal and state court systems early in his career and is licensed to practice law in the federal courts for the Northern District of Illinois, Southern District of Illinois in addition to the Illinois state bar. He is also adept at resolving matters for his clients through alternative dispute resolution mediums and has achieved successful results in mediations, arbitrations, and pre-trial settlement conferences.
A graduate of Indiana University and DePaul University College of Law, Don came to SmithAmundsen in 2010 after working on some of the highest profile litigation cases in the state of Illinois for both the plaintiff and defense bar. While in law school, he worked full-time as a law clerk at a leading Chicago plaintiffs’ law firm where he was an integral part of the trial teams in many cases that were resolved in settlements and jury verdicts in excess of millions of dollars. Upon graduation from law school, Don joined the defense bar and worked for a Chicago law firm where he focused his practice in commercial litigation, product, and construction liability before he joined SmithAmundsen.
In his time at SmithAmundsen, Don has achieved success in the court room as well as successful resolution in mediation and arbitration. Always an advocate for his clients, Don has achieved favorable outcomes at early stages of litigation via dispositive motions and settlements. Don currently works on a variety of complex legal matters for his clients from inception to resolution.
