At SmithAmundsen, Lew served as the firm’s hiring partner for 10 years.  In this capacity, he hired many of the associate attorneys and a number of partners.  Lew is also an active member of SmithAmundsen’s Diversity Task Force (DTF).  Since its inception, the DTF has helped improve the firm’s diversity practices and awareness as well as its attorney diversity and recruitment efforts beyond national norms.

Lew was recently included on the "BTI Client Service All-Stars 2012" list; a distinction reserved for an elite group of less than 300 attorneys whose clients recognize them for delivering superior client service. Lew has been selected by his peers for inclusion on the Illinois Super Lawyers* list for 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2012 in transportation law, published by Law & Politics magazine. He was also named a Leading Lawyer by the Law Bulletin Publishing Company in the area of transportation defense law (aviation, FELA, and maritime) and has received an AV rating from Martindale Hubbell for his legal ability and commitment to professional ethics.
