Timothy Fagan is a partner in SmithAmundsen’s Chicago office. He has over 20 years of experience in trial and appellate advocacy relating to all the major issues that arise in multi-defendant, complex litigation. His experience includes litigation involving professional liability with regard to agents, consultants, and attorneys; toxic and mass torts arising from latent manifestation of bodily injury or property damage; errors and omissions; construction defects; and extra-contractual liabilities. In addition, Tim has over 20 years of insurance coverage experience including experience in litigation involving the respective obligations between primary and excess insurers as well as construction defect coverage. He has also assisted clients with allocation for losses for reinsurance. Tim is the chair of SmithAmundsen’s internal insurance coverage peer review committee providing guidance and advice to all coverage attorneys in the firm.
He is licensed in Illinois as well as in the federal District Courts for the Northern District of Illinois, the Southern District of Michigan, the Eastern District of Missouri and the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin, and has represented clients in cases venued in the state and federal courts of Connecticut, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, and Wisconsin.
Tim was named to the Illinois Super Lawyers* list for 2009, 2010, and 2011, a peer review designation published by Law & Politics magazine. He was also named a Leading Lawyer by the Law Bulletin Publishing Company for his work in class action and mass tort defense law, insurance, insurance coverage, and reinsurance law, and professional malpractice defense law.
