I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to work at SA for two summers as a law clerk, and I cannot say enough about the program.  As summer associates, we were exposed to a variety of different practice areas and subject matters.  We performed research, drafted legal memoranda and motions.  I also was provided the opportunity to co-write and publish an article.  Summer associates were given ample opportunities for field observation, including accompanying attorneys to court, depositions, mediations and arbitrations.  Learning about something in the abstract is one thing, but having the opportunity to shadow attorneys gives some context to what you read about in law school text books.  My summers spent at SA were enriching experiences and prepared me for my transition into the firm as an attorney.  I chose to stay at SA for many reasons - the genuineness of the people I work with, the variety and quality of work, the firm environment, and the firm's reputation in the legal community.

The Summer Associate program was an exceptional snapshot of life as a first year attorney. As a summer associate, I was exposed to varying projects (from basic research and article writing to complex dispositive motion practice) from attorneys at different experience levels and from all of our practice groups. The program presents a glimpse of all the firm has to offer a young associate, and is a fantastic preview of a career here at SA.
